1971 Holden Torana – Restoration

The owner of this Torana knew that there were some issues with his beloved car and had brought it to us to get his floor pans replaced as they had rusted through. He didn’t realise that there were so many problems until we took the car apart.

We discussed with him all the work that needed to be done and explained the whole process. He gave us the go ahead to do a full restoration.

We repaired and/or remanufactured: both front floor pans, both sills, both lower guard sections, rear beaver panel and spare wheel well.

Additionally the left-hand C pillar to turret had corroded through so we rebuilt it and re-attached it, and the left-hand dog leg had also corroded through and we remanufactured this as it was too rusted to repair.

The owner didn’t commission us to go back to bare metal, however there was so much old acrylic paint on the panels, we removed a lot of it and sealed it off with epoxy, then high fill primed and painted.

All of the under floor is finished in Raptor product to give high durability for this part of the car.

The colour was chosen by the owner – it is a Porche colour. We used a Tuxedo Satin Black to do the stripe.

The owner loves his green Torana, and often takes it to shows and special Holden Club events.
